When I was a young boy
My grandma took me to
The river where the people
Were singing all along
They were washing clothes but
Also making songs
And there I met my love
I took my grandma's washboard to begin
To play with these old folks (Oh, please, now)
And I started to realize that it was great
'Cause people asked for more (Ask for some more)
So I picked up a sickle bell and not a tune awry
And then an old claxon to be always by my side
And then (Then what?)
Substituted my spoons for thimbles
Added to this old work glove
This is my old washboard, ugly, isn't it?
It looks like a lot of junk, it smells a little weird
But it makes some good tunes that'll make you sing
'Cause it's my funny, clumsy, amazing washboard machine (Machine)
This is a belt my uncle used to wear
And then threw it at me
That is an old worm my brother used to mix
Well, you know, his stuff
These are not my coconuts, they work just great for me
And plenty of thin food that the people love to hear
That's right, I'll show you all the things we can do
With just a bag of trash
This is my old washboard, ugly, isn't it?
It looks like a lot of junk, it smells a little weird
But it makes some good tunes that'll make you sing
'Cause it's my funny, clumsy, amazing washboard machine
Come on, stupid
Surely you have noticed here, it's also a noodle bell
I found it in an old hotel, I'm sure it's hard to tell
So we ask for your attention once again

This is my old washboard, ugly, isn't it?
It looks like a lot of junk, it smells a little weird (It stinks)
But it makes some good tunes that'll make you sing
'Cause it's my funny, clumsy, amazing (It's better than it's lasting)
Nasty and dirty washboard machine (Alright)
