A very straightforward joint, uh, hopefully
Getting you really riled up right now
I'm super excited about performing this song
Uh, this song has been dangerous thus far in my concerts
We making folks sign waivers before we play it
Nah, I'm joking, but that'd be cool
Uh, but anyhow, the song is, uh, really
Beating on that drum, that ancient drum
That, uh, perseverance is really the key of all, um, progression
So, there's no progress without perseverance, so
I wanted to, again, come with another soundtrack for the struggling
That says, "We know our troubles may not be gone tomorrow
We know that life is hard, but we also know that
God will overcome this life through our faith
Hold on, do not give up"
Um, there's an African proverb that says that "
A fist is not big enough to block out the sky"
Which literally means that hope and what we have on the horizon is
Always bigger than the, the fist of
Violence that is right in our face
Though it may be big for our eyes because it's right
In our face, it's not bigger than what is beyond it
So, it's this idea of never giving up, continue to believe
That is a faith that overcomes and I am going to
Fight with my people, um, across the, the globe
Um, and I speak for humanity when I say my people
We will fight until the last ounce of evil is
Eradicated from this world 'cause we know it will be
