I watched a feather floating through some heavy traffic - It was almost pornographic
Windy weather and the endless rush of vehicle after vehicle created quite the spectacle
One giant truck rammed it
And I thought it might have jammed itself into the grill
But it didn't get stuck
It just floated around it
A bus looked like it might pound it
The feather made no fuss and loosely flew
In a way that would make Bruce Lee say: Oooohhh
And car after car threatened to crush it
With each drive by
But instead, would flush it up from the road
And into the sky where it would spin
And it would fly
It made me grin
It brought a tear to my eye
If I could even TRY to be that light
In the face of the fight
That the freeway of my life sometimes brings
I could certainly do some incredible things
I watch how the feather swings around
Lighter than air without being touched
There is a profound lesson for me there
So much information at hand
And after what appeared like a most violent quest
The feather finds a silent rest on a piece of land
On the other side of the road
No longer kicked up or tumbled by forces that rumble
Picked up by a bird making a nest
The feather reinforces her humble abode
