I built a home out of hollow bones

Slept in the ache I called my own

Buried the light where no one could see

And prayed the dark would set me free

I dug a grave for who I was

Beneath the weight of just because

Now every scar's a map I read

To find the ghost I used to be

What I buried to become me

Wasn't pretty, wasn't clean

It was love I couldn't carry

And dreams that split at the seams

I'm not proud of every ending

But I'm breathing finally

So don't ask me to unearth what I buried to become me

I kept the notes you never read

Folded beneath the words I said

I wore your silence like a crown

And let it pull me further down
