A break may be configured as a rhythmic loop
Or a series of various breaks
Can be played in sequence to form a rhythm track
This can be done by use of a digital sampler
A reel-to-reel tape deck
Or by cutting two copies of a certain record
Cutting will be the focus of our lesson today

To use the following breaks on a two-turntable system
If this Compact Disc does not fit snugly on your turntables
You may need to put adhesive tape over the center hole
And force the spindle through the tape
The buildup of tape on the inside of the hole
Will reduce the diameter of that hole
By playing the desired break on the first turntable
And then upon the break's completion
Playing the same break on the second turntable
A loop is formed, for example
Wow, that's fly
The volumes can be faded in and out of the mix
By using separate volume controls for each turntable
Or by using a specialized DJ mixer
Equipped with a cross fader

You will find a series of samples and drops from various sources
This creates an interesting effect
When played at various point on a tract or when scratched
Scratching, is rhythmic manual playing of a brief sound
Both forwards and backwards repeatedly
