Golden Picture Frames

Once upon a time, two people fell in love in Medford, Oklahoma

A simple "hello" turned into an "it would be nice to get to know ya"

Under a red bud tree she was still pretty green

When he asked her to marry

It didn't take long they started having kids

Just babies having babies

Over 15 years they ended up with 12, and I know that sounds crazy

And they say youngest tells the story

And I'm the last grandkid of forty

There's still a white house at the end of 7th south

Where a whole lotta life got lived

And I remember Christmas on that corduroy couch

Being all filled up with kids

All the faces in the photographs

Stories hanging up in the hallways

The memories don't fade away

I take them with me in my heart today

In golden picture frames

Just like that hallway, my heart is full of memory after memory

Every Sunday dinner, every random get-together

Every birthday, every wedding

Some of us have moved away, yeah a whole lot's changed

But I still see it all, and I can still say

There's a little white house at the end of 7th south

Where a whole lotta life got lived

And I remember Christmas on that corduroy couch

Being all filled up with kids

All the faces in the photographs

Stories hanging up in the hallways

The memories won't fade away
