Well I was a-hopin' for a car-less city
I got a driverless car
I was dreamin' of a digital utopia
Ended in a useless class
Now every single Uber, fitted with a computer
And the robots drive you home
It all boils down to the data
It's safer than a human any day
That's why we got them on the border
And workin' on the checkout at the Tesco's down the way
You can't put the genie back into the bottle
And you wouldn't even want to anyway
They took over manual labour
Was almost like it happened overnight
Oh much more cost-effective and so much more reliable
As long as they were programmed right
Computer doesn't need a break for a cigarette
The fuckin' thing will work all night
There's been a lot of evolution
And since the revolution
My life has kind of lost all purpose
But I keep on sayin' thank you to robots
And now I got a robot as a doctor
It saved my life countless times
Oh it's always in my pocket, always in my bloodstream
Measurin' my vital signs
Got a robot as a teacher, a robot as a lawyer
And I'm sleepin' with a robot on the side

Then we're looking at an intelligence explosion. It will speed

That they build, they don't need to be conscious. Just programmed
With a really complex set of instructions. Instructions that our
Little minds can't comprehend. Until one day, we become useless
To them. And by building artificial intelligence, then all this
