Summer house, summer day
Lazy clock ticking on the shelf
Wooden floor creaks as I
Make my way outside
Sunlit porch and smell of grass
Drying shirts hanging on the line
And in the wind forest speaks
As if it was alive
My granddad said, looking at me from his seat
Get ready, he said
We're gonna plant an Apple Tree
So we get to the car
He let me drive
And patiently he showed me how
And I still remember
How my mistakes would make him smile
Rushing through the fields to the local nursery
That's where bought our Apple Tree
Yeah, we bought our Apple Tree
And now as days pass so fast
I wish I could go back
To those simple times
And see the world
Through the eyes of a child again
Smell of ground, dirty hands
My granddad walks me through the steps
It meant more than it seemed
To plant that Apple Tree with him
