Echoes

I sit and watch the leaves turn gold

I see people pass and wave as they go

But I’m frozen still, wondering what it’s like

To feel the rush and feel the tides

When close my eyes

Oh, if I fall too deep, will you be the sunrise?

Oh, if only I could see it all through your eyes

But the world keeps spinning

Why am I not moving with it?

Lost in the echoes when I go back home

That boy still looks the same, there in the picture frames

Afraid to grow old

So I search these walls for the warmth I used to feel

But the air’s gone cold

And the more I stare at the world out there

The more I disappear
