Hey man, it's been a while

I remember those long nights that we'd stay up

Playing poker damn near til the break of dawn

It looks like you tied the knot

You got a family a daughter and son

Me? I'm working at the parts shop here in town

And I guess I'm drinking more now not to think about

The place that I ain't in

It's so damn far away from the place I thought I'd be

Most nights I come home, throw the TV on

And sit there by myself

I'm sorry man, I don't mean to bore you half to death

And it's good to see you made it out of this dump

But I'm still catching up

I heard Thomas settled down 

Somewhere in Missouri with his wife 

I guess he's preaching Sunday sermons to get by

I took up music 

And I've been playing in these bars but I can't lie

It's a living but it's killing me inside
