As we clock 50, we going from grace to grass
We all know that's true, we all know it's the basic fact
A nation where no politician seems to wanna die for
Now what the hell do they want a piece of the national cake for?
At 50, my people still dying of malaria
We can't boast of clean water, we still dying of cholera
Now what the hell we celebrating? Is it sorrow?
If it ain't ASUU today, it's gonna be NUT tomorrow
Education is crap in the country, so they send their kids abroad
Living the poor to suffer, it's like getting slashed with a sword
The damn celebration was even interrupted by a bomb
You could figure there's no peace and unity even if you were dumb
So unfortunate it's the innocent that always have to suffer
Disaster upon disaster, these corruptors got nothing more to offer
The nation's problem is like a fire and a smoke
Fire can be concealed, but definitely not the smoke
Billions of naira have been wasted for the damn celebration
While the kids are wandering the streets hungry, what a pathetic nation
Natural resources? No doubt, we got stacks of it
But how can you possess something and still suffer from the very lack of it?
They fly first class, so they hardly notice the bad roads
Electricity? Nah, all they care about running around like mad goats
It's so sad no amount of fasting and prayers can save this nation
Let's just hope someone somewhere emerges and save the next generation
The future is now!
