How Can This Be?

I was just a quiet daughter

From a humble place unknown

When heaven spoke into my silence

And called me more than I had known

An angel stood before me

With a promise far too great

Words that sounded like forever

Spoken in a moment's space

My heart was filled with wonder

My mind could not yet see

I asked the question whispered softly"How can this be?"

How can this be, Lord?

Your promise so divine

How can the impossible

Be born in space and time?

Yet here I am in wonder

Here I am in awe

If You have spoken life to me

Let it be according to Your word

You said the Holy Spirit

Would overshadow my soul

That power from the Highest

Would make this mystery whole

You turned my fear to favor

My weakness into grace

And through a simple"yes" of faith

You changed the human race

Let it be unto me

Just as You have said

I will trust the God of promise

With the life before me laid

From my womb would rise redemption

From my praise would come the King

Through obedience and wonder

You would do the greater thing

How can this be, Lord?

Yet nothing is too hard

You call the unseen into life

And make Your glory known

Here I am in worship

Here I am in awe

If You have spoken life to me

Let it be according to Your word

And the promise became a Savior

And the Savior became our hope

From a question filled with wonder

Came the answer for the world

How can this be?

It is the grace of God.
