Why Can't I Fly?

All the world is passing by

While I delay my sorrows

Seek the truth from the chosen one

And comfort from tomorrows

Feel the love of a million years

All fall down to my feet

Touch the fire of something new

As I forget what I seek

Damnation of souls who see

You manipulate shells of thee

Is a love to be so, so empty

I would not question it

But I am not free

Tower over someone else

With power in the nude

Heal the twisted with your spells

Guess spells don't work on you

Take me from the life I had

Replace it with a zoo

Dying to my family

It's a sacred hitherto

Guide us shepherd we're your herd

Twist the scriptures to your words

Why is that my thoughts are obscured

I would not question it

But I'll fly like a bird

And they've all told me that Jesus Christ has died

There's a moment of denial

As I walk with my hands tied

And there's a life for me that waits on the other side

I just have to make it through to prove

The memories haven't died

Cause if they have

I would see

I live my life through your eyes

Preach your truth of a million lies

And if my destiny says I should die

I would not question it

But why can't I fly?
