This Is Sparta

This is a real good place to live, the kind you want to raise your kids

Buy some dirt, build a house, plant roots and settle down

This is where I'll probably die, and if you ask me why, there's a few things I can tell you about my little town

There's a coffee shop at the courthouse square, and everybody goes there, next door to the best little pizza place

Down the road about a mile or two, past the old middle school

That's my granny's old house, and I miss her more every day

This is Sparta, Tennessee, right where this old boy's meant to be

I've never called nowhere else home, and I never will

I got people here I love, White County's in my blood

It's a beautiful thing to be a part of

You gotta hit our drive in on a Friday night, nothing like a movie under moonlight

With the girl of your dreams, right up under your arm

Or round June when it gets hotter, cruise around Sonic for an ocean water

And squeal a tire, pulling out on Bockman Way

Can't describe the way it makes me feel, this little town right between Nash and Knoxville

You should really try to swing by if you get a chance

And if you're tired of drinking old Bud Light and Miller, go see my boys down at the Calf Killer

Brewing that stuff that helps white people dance
