Here's a story that really happened in Kentucky long ago
There was a lady named Jenny Wiley
Who was captured by the Indians at her home
Then they took her to their village
There they tied her with a log
For days and nights, she was their prisoner
Her only friend, a little dog
So one day, she got the courage
And she tried to get away
But they caught her at the foothills
By the waters of Big Mud Lake
Then they took her back to their village
After all her grief and strife
Now she knew the Indians were angry
And she thought they'd take her life
She planned through all her misery
How to make a fast escape
Then she started on her journey
For a chance she had to take
She traveled through the woodlands
Over hills and valleys deep
The Indians were so close behind her
She could hear the Indian chief
He would call for Jenny Wiley
"Where are you?" he would say
But the workmen at Sandy River
Helped Jenny Wiley get away
