There is a tale 'bout a man from the sea
He was pale and bony
He strode from the deep
He stood in the shallows unmoving and cold as the sea
Upon his cold face was a mask of old steel
And ran down his spine
The holes of a coral
To breath and to scream as the townfolk they ran to the sea
Rested and weary the man went to lie
The surgeons they cut him
But hard as they'd try
His mask was unmoving his eyes they were black as the sea
So they went to the mask with chisel and chain
Hacksaw and brain they did slave
They cut through the mask
They opened the vengeance and hate of the sea
There he stood in the carnage, madness and death
The gates they were broken
The shoreline dissolved
For mercy, they begged at the feet of the sea
"I was cursed to the sea!
Now ye who art dead shall be bound
To dine with the deep ones
And follow me!
Follow me!
Follow me into the sea!"
(Into the sea)
(Into the sea)
Old and young so they followed
Dead or alive
Sound or insane they were taken
They marched to the deep in the wake of the man from the sea
They serve in the deep as slaves of the man from the sea
(The man from the sea)
