Last night I hovered over my plate
And my parents said you can't leave till you've ate
So I stuffed another carrot in my mouth
And thought of only ashes and fallout
Oh every day I'm prayin' for the bomb
I sit and wait with patience and aplomb
And I shall be good and listen to dad and mom
But every day I'm prayin' for the bomb
Oh I've never been the brightest child at school
In fact most days I'm playin' quite a fool
But nowadays they laugh at instead of with me
But when that flash goes off they won't be smilin' you'll see
So every day I'm prayin' for the bomb
Bow my head and close my eyes and wish it on
Oh inside I burn but outside keep it calm
Because every day I'm prayin' for the bomb
No I do not know much of radiation
Or how to stop strange gene mutations
But if it means I won't be eating Brussels sprouts
Then let Russia hit the switch and send them out
Cause every day I'm prayin' for the bomb
And yes I'll miss my friends and dad and mom
But I draw mushroom clouds in detail with crayons
Every day I'm prayin'
Oh I'm so tired of waiting every day
(Every day I'm praying for the bomb)
I'm so tired of waiting
Every day I'm praying for the bomb
