Living in paradise
I know it sounds so nice
Coconut palm and banana trees
Hula ladies in the evening breeze
But we still hear the children cry
Sometimes a neighbor won't meet your eye
Though we hold our love high
We're not perfect in paradise
Should it matter if you're brown or white
When you're living in paradise
If you're driving the finest truck
Or just thumbing down your luck
We are brothers and sisters here
Why do we judge, what do we fear
When we have such great gifts to share
Living in paradise
When we hear the bulldozers and
Rolling on sacred ground
We got to stand and fight
'Cause in our hearts we know it's not right
Malamo pono aloha e
This is what our kupuna say
Let them help us to live this way
Here in our paradise
I lost a good friend the other day
He closed his eyes and just slipped away
He left his family and all his friends
To love each other and make amends
Time is precious and life is sweet
Let me not miss the chance to meet
Our ohana who love this life
Living in paradise
Time is precious and life is sweet
Let me not miss the chance to meet
My ohana who love this life
Living in paradise
Here in paradise
