Creeping Tentacles

Trapped inside a lost ship

Drifting in the dark

Everyone is dead

I'm alone

Scurvy took the captain

Storms took the crew

Now it's just me

On my own

I light the only lantern

And creep around the ship

The only sounds I hear

Are creaks and waves

But in a glint of moonlight

A movement in the dark

Curling around the corner

Through the haze

Creeping tentacles

Growing ever closer

Giant moving suckers

Wet from the sea

Creeping tentacles

Something from my nightmares

Reaching for me, pulling at me

For eternity

Every room I entered

I locked the door behind me

Believing I was safe

But then I'd see

Tentacles through the window

Tentacles under the door

Tentacles coming after me

I hid inside the closet

Tentacles through the crack

I hid inside the shower

Suckers on the wall

I crept into the wheelhouse

Tentacles on the helm

Everywhere I go

They creep and crawl

Creeping tentacles

Growing ever closer

Giant moving suckers

Wet from the sea

Creeping tentacles

Something from my nightmares

Reaching for me, pulling at me

For eternity

With nowhere to escape

I ran into the ballroom

And climbed into the highest

Chandelier

I curled up in a ball

Swinging in the dark

The tentacles will never

Find me here

My eyes were straining in the blackness

Teeth were chattering in the cold

I listened for the suckers

In the night

A touch upon my shoulder

Something icy on my neck
