This is a story about an orphan boy
Who was heavily
Maltreated by his step mother and step brother
One day after being starved and left in the cold at night
He wondered into the forest
Where he saw a seed on the ground
And he picked it up
Then he came back to plant it
As he dug the soil with tears in his eyes
He cried and called to his mother to the spirits
To the God of seeds and fruitfulness
As he planted the seed he watered it with his tears
And began to sing
Suddenly there was a sprout from the ground
which became a tree
The tree grew and blossomed
And became very fruitful
The boy ate from the tree he sold
And became very wealthy and famous
This however grieved his step mother and brother
One day while he was away
His step mother connived with his brother
They plucked all the fruits and cut down the tree
The boy returned and saw what had happened
He fell to his knees and cried again
Oh what have i done to them
Why do they hate me so much
But wait though the tree had been cut
The root stills remains in the soil
Yes with hope in his heart as he cried
He prayed and sang again saying
