KRL - A Day in the Hood

Brother wakes me in the middle of the night

Says we got to leave the house now

I put my clothes on and walk outside

And there is my sister-in-law

Crawling pregnant on the ground

Telling me

"You got to call the cops now"

They were shooting at our house

Bullets went through the window

Through the baby's room

So many bullets

Through the baby's room

I call the cops

And they're taking forever

So I call again

And the woman says

"I'm so sorry Sir

We're sending 'em your way

It's a busy night in town"

While I was on the phone

The ambulance came

And they said

"You got to go"

So I ran inside and got my brother and sister-in-law's clothes

And drove them to the hospital

Through the baby's room

So many bullets
