Lavenders Bridge

I'm taking time

To clear my mind

I am going away

To a place

Where birds fly high

And the sun

Is here to stay

I taste sunscreen

At the back of my tongue

And feel the water

Cold on my skin

So this is how

It feels to be young

I think this is where

My life will begin

I wonder

Will I ever feel

Like this again

The people swim

Under Lavenders Bridge

And they'll all be heading home soon

As day turns to night

I settle in with my wife

And spend the hours talking with the moon
