Through electric veil
I see those palaces of envy
My heart weeps in tongues
The inexcusable need
The tangled apprehension
That golden domestic dread
I fulfill my daylight position
In sweet humiliation of what I am
That mixed lie of punishment and pride
Another yesterday done fled
Those illness pills, they refuse to astound
Those lonesome neurons they've found
But when I'm bored my disgust is cured
By these fantastic I keep around
Through electric veil
I see those palaces of envy
The inexcusable need
The tangled apprehension
That golden domestic dread
