Once upon a time
I really thought about quitting Christian music for real
But only 'cause I was fabricating somebody in public
And the dude behind closed doors wasn't the real deal
Never felt right to cast judgment on somebody else
When I had my own skeletons so concealed
Dealing with addictions for years
In need of a savior, praying to Jesus to be healed
But then He revealed
His death was payment for freedom
And I believe it
With all my heart and soul, His love I received it
In the midst of pain, there's a hope that I'm cleaving
Used to be ashamed to call His name
I used to let my wicked flesh deceive me
Now you're looking at a free man
Unashamed of the gospel
I will make it to the land of promises
Even if some never believe, God remains dominant
In a world full of hate, His love remains prominent
