Overthinking

You've been sinking in your thoughts too long

I see the weight you carry where it doesn't belong

You try to hide it but I can see the strain

The battle in your mind the endless waves of pain

Every night you fight a war unseen

Falling apart in spaces in between

You don't have to tell me I already know

The scars you wear the ones you never show

You can't shut it off it's burning you inside

I can feel your pain no matter how you hide

You're trying but you fall every time

Screaming out but trapped within your mind

The weight inside your head it's pulling you apart

I know the walls you build the ones that cage your heart

You blame yourself for every breath you take

But I understand though it won't make the ache break

You hurt yourself to feel something real

But every scar's a wound that time won't heal

I'm here and I'll never walk away

Even when you're lost and you push me away

You overthink every word you've said

Convinced that you're the monster in your head

You're terrified to show the depths inside

Afraid of what I'll see but there's nothing to hide

I'm not going anywhere I've seen the dark

I know the demons tearing you apart

You can't scare me off with your broken heart

I've been there too falling into the same dark

You wish you were stronger but you feel too small
