"Pretty Peggy" is one of the songs that wrote itself, you know
I think I played it once on the acoustic in my studio in Byron and that was it
Put down the drums, put down the bass, left it, moved on
And I, I didn't even send it as a demo to Brendan O'Brien
I didn't send it to management or anyone
And then like once I got a kind of feel for the record
I thought, I've got something, I don't know where it is
I asked Kev, who engineered the demos if he might have a copy of this song
And he emailed it through and I sent, forwarded it on to Brendan
He's like, "We have to do this"
And, uhm, this one, I think, we recorded in one day with Josh Freese
And yeah, the treatment's all pretty simple
It's just like 12 string guitar and mandolin and, and acoustic
And, and it was done in a day
It's just one of those, I think that when it's good, it's easy
You know, it's just one of those things that just kinda
It came out of nowhere and before we knew it, it was finished
