When I arrive, I like to step through the door
The one down by the fire pit that stands by itself
Metaphorically speaking, it can take me anywhere I want
Like a weekend of adventure and pure unadulterated fun
Pay my respects to the fox on the hill
He was created by everybody here
Because a slice of the ticket price
Goes to funding independent artists
They bring their work into the garden, so everybody can enjoy it
Now through the Portaloo to a field of sunflowers
Head to toe in illuminous paint, dancing to David Rodigan
Or out on the pagoda, stomping through the afternoon
In a boat on the lake, watching dragonflies make love
And now he's flying down the hill on a five-year-old's bike
He knows full well he's never gonna make that jump
But the Wonky Olympics never fail to draw a crowd
And there's a long line of gardeners ready to scream and shout
From the Small World Artful Badger to the Dance Off boxing ring
Big Top Little Top with Liability Eden
So many things to see and do, so many sounds to keep you dancing
Brothers and sisters, this is a serious party
They say it's not about the music, but of course it is
It's about all of the wonderful things that go along with it
It's about the drugs and the hedonism
It's about the art and the colour of the rhythm
And celebrating all the different forms of creativity
Memories and friends will be made
At the Secret Garden Party
I used to sing my songs in the Conspiracy Camp
Once I did an E! live on stage
And every Sunday afternoon, I'll be where the wild things are
I played that stage so much, I became part of the furniture
Now I'm sitting on the van in the blue car park
An aeroplane in the sky draws a massive heart
I lean over to Lizzy B and tell her that I love her so
I can't wait to hold her close tonight
And watch the big fireworks show
Back when this party started, there was nothing quite like it
Fifteen years ago, no one else was really doing this
And it became the blueprint for festivals that we know and love
So let's give it the respect that it deserves
And one last big send-off
They say it's not about the music, but of course it is
It's about the theme and the fancy dress
It's the circus, it's the carnival, it's the parade
Leave your worries at home and your troubles at the gate
And celebrate all the different forms of creativity
As we wish a fond farewell
To the Secret Garden Party
Because it's with a heavy heart we wish the garden goodbye
It's also a decision I can understand
'Cause I've always been a fan of things that end in a bang
