So with this record, we felt like we wanted to branch out a little bit
And particularly we wanted to get away from the rock and roll standard
You know, bass, drums, guitar, singer
Uhm, so we consciously switched instruments around a little bit
Bill can play a lot of different instruments so
Yeah, there, our drummer plays guitar, bass, keyboards, mandolin
So we flipped it around a little bit and it gives songs a different feeling
I know, but I've listened to records and, you know, or been on, listened to the radio
And just said, well, this guy's listened to our records
Uhm, especially because there's a lot of things that I do
That I learned from Mitch Easter and Don Dixon, although they're my ideas too
But the way to stack guitars, mixing electrics and acoustics
And the guitar's coming in and out, and I'll hear records
I'll go, yeah, this guy's been listening to my records, and he knows what I'm doing
I don't mind it at all, you know
I mean, if they did better than us, I'd be angry
I mean, I'd be really, really angry if we were still playing, you know, to 400 people
And some band that was imitating us was at the top
But, you know, that hasn't really happened
