I've been standing in line with my mouth shut tight

Watching dreamers get nervous and call it a night

Everybody's got rules they didn't write

Everybody's scared of being seen trying

I hear the whispers, I hear the laughs

I hear the "what if you crash and burn?"

Funny thing about the edge of the map

That's where the page finally turns

I tried playing sane, tried blending in

But sanity's boring, and I'm itching again

So I jump anyway, no helmet, no net

No promise I'll land, no plan B yet

Let 'em talk, let 'em stare, let 'em say I'm gone

I'd rather be crazy than safe this long

If fear wants the wheel, I cut the brakes

I don't need permission to make mistakes

I don't need to know if I'll win today

I'm jumping anyway

They love you best when you stay in the lane

Smile politely, keep folding the same

But the rules feel fake when they're handed down

By people who never left their ground

I've seen genius die in maybe next year

Watched passion rot under practical fear

I'd rather be loud, misunderstood

Than die of being reasonable

They call it reckless, I call it breath

Call it life before quiet death

So I jump anyway, lights in my eyes

Laughing at the voice saying, "Don't even try"

Let 'em point, let 'em pray for my fall

I'm not here to impress them at all

If fear's got a script, I tear the page

If I'm going insane, I'm enjoying the ride

I don't need a map, I don't need a sign

I'm jumping anyway

What if it works? What if it doesn't?

What if the only mistake is never finding out?

They say, "Be careful"

I say, "Be alive"

Heart beating fast like I don't even care

If this is madness, lock the door
