Six unseen things dwarves now twist
In shadowed halls of ash and mist
A ribbon hums with ancient breath
It sings of fate, it binds to death
The cat now walks with silent tread
A beard on maiden's chin is spread
The mountain grows its hidden root
The chain begins its silent route
The bear now gives its living thread
The fish exhales though no one's led
The bird now spits beneath the skies
And Gleipnir wakes with glowing ties
Gleipnir bít ek fast
Í fjötur er ek bundinn
Úr þögn ok skugga smíðað
Ek bíð at rjúfa bandið
The wolf now stands with fire in grin
He sees the trick, he feels the spin
He says, "One god must risk his hand
Or else no test shall stain this land"
Then Týr now steps with steady breath
He offers flesh to face the death
His hand now rests in Fenrir's jaw
The silence cracks with primal law
Gleipnir bít ek fast
Í fjötur er ek bundinn
Úr þögn ok skugga smíðað
Ek bíð at rjúfa bandið
On Lyngvi's isle, the chain still holds
The wolf now strains, his fury folds
He howls across the sky's wide dome
He waits for fire to bring him home
The thread still shines though thin and light
It holds the beast with hidden might
What's never seen may shape the end
And even gods must one day bend
Gleipnir bít ek fast
Í fjötur er ek bundinn
Úr þögn ok skugga smíðað
Ek bíð at rjúfa bandið
