My Papa was a blacksmith 'til the age of 35
When the lord saw it to carry him away
Now my Mama tends to church each Sunday waitin' for a sign
But nothing can relieve her broken faith
I was loading boxes at the early age of 9
And I never saw no need to break away
You see my home lie never was that bad... but it never was that good
Sometimes I wonder why I ever stayed
There ain't no used in cryin'... that won't hide the pain
Of a lonely night and another rainy day
Harlen was my brother and he led a twisted life
A single word could send him into rage
You see the ill affect of alcohol and a six inch kitchen knife
Made sure he'd spend life living in a cage (But Harlen says...)
There ain't no used in cryin'... that won't hide the pain
Of a lonely night and another rainy day
Something gets inside me at the end of every day
When I think of all the people I have know
Some of them are with me and some have gone away
And I think o them whenever I'm alone
There ain't no used in cryin'... that won't hide the pain
Of a lonely night and another rainy day
There ain't no used in cryin'... that won't hide the pain
Of a lonely night and another rainy day
