After The Darkness

Afraid to go outside at night

Afraid to sleep without the light

Darkness came and my fears began to rise

So afraid to be alone

The slightest sounds were overblown

I'd climb underneath the covers and try to hide

So many nights I lay in bed

back and forth I'd rock my head

Trying to Shake the fear out of my mind

Scared of what I'm not really sure

but My fears made me so insecure

Until at last I'd fall asleep and find

After the darkness there's always the dawn

The sun comes up and the fears are gone

Those menacing shadows that cause such fright

Just disappear in the morning light

After the darkness

Then One day you came along

and brought me peace just like the dawn

You came in and drove my fears away

Now When I lay me down to sleep

I'm sure my soul is in Your keep

You'll never let me go come what may

Always watching over me
