Hey yeah...
Once there was a man who was on death row, for treason against his Master and Lord and now, judgement day had finally come
Guilt was proven, the sentence clear, execution forthwith, no appeal, the gavel fell, his end near, hope was gone
He was a Dead Man Walkin'...
Then his Master arose, took off robe and crown, went before the bench as He laid 'em down and made a shocking plea for the condemned
"I'm here to cut a deal", He boldly said
"Take me in my betrayer's stead and he walks clean, I'll atone for his offense"
"I'll take the blame, I'll bear the shame, pay the debt in full and heal all the pain,
I've come to set the captive free, ooh ooh
This Dead Man Walkin' can now receive full amnesty"
Silence gripped the court as His words took hold, His deed astonished both young and old; what's more, His own Father was the Judge
He gazed at His Son with knowing eyes, He looked somber but faintly smiled, 'cause they planned this together with amazing love, for a Dead Man Walkin'...
"I accept your terms", declared the Judge,
"Though his crime is great the price is blood, but if You satisfy the law, he'll be released"
So the Master changed places, made the sacrifice, gave Himself to save a traitor's life, married mercy and justice and made the peace...
He took the blame, removed the shame, paid the debt in full and healed all the pain; He came and set the captive free ooh ooh, the Dead Man Walkin' is now alive and free indeed...
Now my story's over but hear the moral: we're all Dead Men Walkin', we double-crossed our Lord, Judgement's comin', time is short, mankind's condemned...
The good news is that Christ stepped in, with grace and pardon for all our sins, but to receive it you must repent and trust in Him
He'll take your blame, remove your shame, pay your debt in full and heal all your pain, He'll break the chains if you believe ooh ooh and make you a Live Man Walkin' in Christ... make you a Live Man Walkin' in Christ, a Live Man Walkin' in Christ... ooh ooh... for all eternity
For all eternity...
