Where Did Hope Go?

You were there when I was young, every day showing me a dream

But as time grew long, my mind became less strong

Quick change in direction, every other year it seemed

You seemed to fade behind, more and more over time

Needed in my life, more than ever, my fear of things about to end

Where did hope go when it took flight
