Jesus the Savior, Christ the Anointed
Son of our Father, come to comfort man
Glory unto heaven, praise be heaven
Glory to the Lord, the Christ has come
Glory unto heaven, praise be heaven
Glory to earth, the Christ has come
Christ has come, Christ has come
The angel of God had come to Joseph in a dream and told him not to
Be afraid to take Mary as his wife, for that which was begotten in
Her was of the Holy Spirit, and that she would bring forth a son
Who was to be called Jesus, for he would save his people from their
Sins. Now Joseph and Mary lived in Nazareth, but shortly before
Mary was to bring forth her child, the Roman Emperor Caesar Augustus
Issued a command that everybody had to return to the towns where
They were born and have their names written down on a tax list
And since Joseph and Mary were both from the family of King David
They journeyed to Bethlehem. It was a long, hard trip, and when
They got there they found Bethlehem full of people like themselves
Who had come to pay their taxes. The inn was full and there was no
Room for them. The best they could do was to go to a stable where
The cattle were kept. And in that stable in Bethlehem, Jesus the
Savior of the world was born. Mary wrapped her child in swaddling
Clothes and laid him in a manger where the cattle were fed. Then Mary
And Joseph adored the divine infant, and it was the first Christmas
Glory unto heaven, praise be heaven
Glory to the Lord, the Christ has come
Glory unto heaven, praise be heaven
Glory to earth, the Christ has come
Christ has come, Christ has come
