Monday morning i get out of my bed
I turn my head and greet my friend
I've never heard a single word they've said
But I still like them all the same
We take a walk to the bus stop
Waiting together till we part ways
Waving goodbye from the window
I've been shadow watching everyday
I hope that one day they can stay
Tango with their tangible counterparts
They mirror every move they make
And even though they don't speak like you and me
I still listen to the way they be
Watching peoples shadows move and sway
As they come and go passing by my way
I don't like eyes they make me afraid I just look down and talk to my friends
And later on when I get back home
I sit by my bedroom window
Taking time out of my day
To gaze upon my wall where the shadows play
The sun shines down over our
Little world and everything feels okay
Letting go of my worried face
And let the glowing warmth embrace
At the end of the day
Is there someone to blame?
Do we need really need
Someone to shame?
As the sun goes down
It rises again
So why waste a frown
On what we couldn't control
Shadow watching
The clouds cast shadows upon the ground
I don't know where they're going but I follow them down
The moon shines bright when the sun has set
Reflections deflecting the protons we collect
Put them in my pocket to save for another day
When its gotten to dim to see the steps of this staircase
Its an endless chase, down the spiral we dive again
Its been a long time no see my friend
