I was born again, hands ready to serve,
Fired up in the house of the Lord, no reserve.
But a whisper turned dagger, a glance became a wound,
I let offense bloom, opened doors to the tomb.
Two years in the night, running from the call,
Chasing smoke, chasing shadows, watching angels fall.
The pull was real, it never let me go,
Four times at the mirror, dressed but saying no.
"Everyone will judge you," the voice kept on,
The deceiver was cooking me before the dawn.
But the Name above the shadows breaks chains in the dark,
It cuts through the silence, it ignites my heart.
Even hell's own hounds can't keep me bound,
When I speak His Name, the walls come down.
One Sunday morning, I swallowed my shame,
Walked back through the doors, expecting blame.
No side eyes, no whispers, only open arms,
"Welcome home, we've missed you" broke my alarm.
I slept that night with a fragile peace,
But the war I'd left wasn't ready to cease.
Two demon dogs on my hands, claws in my skin,
Shadow man in a top hat, pulling me in.
Paralyzed, muted, couldn't get out a sound,
Trying to say "Jesus," but my tongue was bound.
Fight through the silence,
Struggle in the pit,
Every ounce of strength,
'Til His Name I spit.
And the Name above the shadows breaks chains in the dark,
It cuts through the silence, it ignites my heart.
Even hell's own hounds can't keep me bound,
When I shout His Name, the walls come down.
The enemy knows he's losing his hold,
This battle is real, but the Word is bold.
The Name of Jesus - power over all,
Even in the night, His kingdom calls.
