I've seen men fall beneath my blade I've watched the life in eyes that fade

But never silence felt so loud As when he hung before the crowd

The sky went black, the temple shook The earth itself could hardly look

Truly this was the Son of God, the Heaven's weapon

Soldiers, oh, forgive me, Lord, for what I've done

The cross has slain a centurion I heard him pray for those who cursed

He blessed the ones who struck him first His mother cried, his friends withdrew
