The sun sets on a blood-soaked field

I walk among the fallen

Ours and theirs though the difference feels so small now

Fathers

Sons

Brothers

All Nephites once

How did we come to this

I see the cost of what we've won today

Dreams lie shattered hearts turned gray

The mother's sons lie side by side

United now where all pride died

This war began with a vote denied

One man's will that would not bend

But the roots reach deeper far before

Where Nehor's lies began to rend

False teachers promised easy peace

Freedom without faith or pain

Offered crowns of gilded gold

But never taught what truth would gain

Now I see the causes clear

Pride and lies and hearts grown cold

If we would never come to this again

We must be stronger than before

The Church must be our armor

The Word our sword and shield

For freedom without righteousness

Will always always yield

For five long years I've judged this land

I've seen good men forget their God

I've seen false prophets stir up hate

And families torn by pride's dark rod

No more

This ends now

I'll strengthen Zion's weary heart

Teach the people to believe

Prepare them for the storms to come

That faith might never leave

We'll guard both soul and city's gate

For darkness gathers yet again

A righteous people must be strong

Not by fear but faith in Him

I see what must be done now

Strengthen faith and sharpen swords

Build up Zion from within

And guard her borders by the Lord

Let the Church awaken fully

Let the humble rise and sing

So when the enemy returns

Our God will fight as King

I am tired

This burden of judge and soldier weighs so heavy
