Starbucks cups and warm blankets
Enough food made to throw a banquet
Everybody belongs with no ranking
This is a celebration
We sit and praise God for another year
And take some time to wonder why we still here
It doesn't seem fair, but we give thanks
And extend love, even through the pain
Brown liquor and wine, these are holy spirits
I'm drinking and thanking God
I don't fear it
Speaking up while thanking God, he's still hearing
And things change, but she remains and that's consistent
At least that's my experience
It's all good if you can't relate
You can still have a seat and you can grab a plate
I'm not looking to preach, I just want to reach
I just want to feel, I just want to be
I don't want to stir the pot if you don't want to eat
I don't want to assume that I have what you need
Cause at the end of the day
I don't know anything
Starbucks cups and warm blankets
Enough food made to throw a banquet
Everybody belongs with no ranking
This is a celebration
Hell is empty with no tenants
Heaven is full, we got penance
So life is good and worth living
Even when I forget
Even when I buy into the lies about what is real
Even when my heart holes are artificially filled
Life is still good
It's all good
This is sweater weather
Could anything get any better weather
And I'm soaking it up
And resting in love
And you should too
Amen
Amen.
