Once in Bethlehem there was a shepherd
While plucking his harp he kept his father's sheep
Amongst his brothers he was the youngest
Sent by his father to look after his brothers' needs
As he reached the camp he heard the war cry
Curiously he ran towards the battle line

They replied "David what are you pursuing?"
Treated as weak and minor
Others weren't courageous either
He trusted in the Lord of Israel

A champion of Gath challenged his enemy
No one was brave to fight Goliath, the warrior
His sword and spear he carried were heavy
An armor out of bronze he used to wear
The king promised to reward the one who kills the giant
Couldn't imagine to defeat him for they were frightened
David was offended cause an unworthy one
Defied the army of God
He knew that God was on his side
And trusted him with all his life
Praising him with our song in struggles
Having faith in our God of wonders
God is greater than the impossible
Can't defeat him, he's unstoppable
David volunteered to fight the enemy
But wasn't approved and accused to be too young
For he cared for his sheep successfully
By killing the lion and the bear by his own
The King offered David his own weaponry
Declined to use it for its flexibility
He believed in his God who rescued him before
Convinced as he knew for what he is fighting for
Treated as weak and minor

He trusted in the Lord of Israel

But now in the valley standing David and Goliath
Confronting each other getting ready to fight
David believed that the battle is the Lord's for sure
Defeating the insuperable problem standing before
Triumphed over the giant with a sling and a stone
Struck him down without a sword of his own
