Look Around You

(I got the blue skies above me)

(I got the green trees around me)

So look around you, what do you see?

Might be a mountain, might be a tree

But living in the city, it's hard to find

Where Mother Nature left her footprint behind

Well, I know concrete and steel might bring you down

But you can find some wildlife by looking around

So look around you, look in the sky

Birds are everywhere that they can fly

They nest on lampposts, they roost on roofs

They sit on wires and sing for you

So look around you, look on the ground

See bugs and reptiles all crawling around

That spider's web is Mother Nature's art

Under that drainpipe you might find a frog

Well, I know concrete and steel might bring you down

But you can find some wildlife by looking around

Walked out the door, put my feet on the street

Started looking around for animals to meet

Lifted a brick and I found a frog

Looked in the sky and I saw a dove

Saw a hundred ants marching with snacks on their backs

And a green lizard crawling in a pavement crack

A little gray squirrel scampered up a tree

I was looking at him while he was looking at me
