He laugh with everybody

Crack jokes, stay smiling

But nobody ever ask him

If he okay

He the strong one

That's what they say

But even strong ones

break in quiet places

He look strong but he ain't okay

Smile on his face but he fighting pain

Carry the world, don't say a thing

Ain't nobody ever hear him say

I'm tired

I'm hurting

I don't know how much more I can take

He the one everybody lean on

But ain't got nobody he can lean on

Phone full of numbers he can call

But he don't feel safe telling none

Told since a kid don't cry, be a man

So he learned how to suffer in silence

Got demons he don't understand

So he cover it up with violence

Working hard just to numb the pain

Late nights driving in the rain

Thinking 'bout everything he lost

But he never say it, he just change

They see the chain, they see the car

They think he good, they think he large

But what they don't see in the dark

Is him fighting just to keep his heart

He tired

He look strong but he barely holding on

Every night he fighting wars alone

Ain't no place he feel like home

Even when he ain't alone

Got a son that look up to him

So he hide all the broken pieces

Got a woman that depend on him

So he never show his weakness

Every loss just sit inside him

Every scar just multiply him

Every tear he never cried

Turn to anger deep inside him

He pray but don't feel heard

Read the Bible but don't feel the words

He try to heal but it still hurt

So he just move like it's all good

Smile for the world, play the role

But inside he losing control

If he ever let it all go

Would anybody even know

Breaking down but he hide his face

Carry pain that he can't erase

Living life but he feel misplaced

I'm tired

I'm hurting

God I don't know how much more I can take
