Walkin' down

To the water's edge

So still

There's not a sound

I make a pledge

And dive right in

I feel the chill

An icy sting

So strong

Cold water surge

I start to swim

To move along

So dive under, glide, don't breathe

I'll be free

Let go of these memories

Have a hold on me, are haunting me

I hear the poundin' inside my head

The cold spreadin' in my limbs

I tell myself not to be afraid

Another fleeting glimpse, so many hints

What's above

Surface sheen

Crystal clear

The arms of trees

Are beckonin'

Callin' me

I don't see how I can reach the shore

But I've never really tried before

Now stay under, dive, and seize

Opportunities

And let go of these memories

Feelin' my lungs wheeze, just one more squeeze

And my world's turned upside down

I'm glidin' underneath

I'm still alive, but scared to drown

Can I finally breathe, and be relieved

The water clutches at my soul

Takin' over, swallows me

Will I reach the shore as a whole
