The Book

When I read the words, I picture you

Sipping coffee living somewhere new

As I watch the people passing through

I can't help but to think of you

So tell me, are you happy?

Now I'm just a memory

Fading from a bad dream

In your sleep

You're the girl in every book I read

The protagonist in all I see

But I just fiction you're not real

You will always be my favourite fantasy

So when I turn the pages

Licking at my fingertips

Sometimes I pretend you come alive

In my story, you're the one and only

Then I close my eyes

And that's when you die

I'll keep wishing on the day

When I read those words and fall through the page

I'll be right beside you until I fade

I'll stay in the grey

You can take my place

You're always right beside me

Hidden in the meaning

I can put you down

But I can't forget

And when I'm lonely

And I'm feeling like it's not real

I make you all inside my head
