There's a road out past the cornfields where the headlights seem to fail
Where the silence feels like pressure and the wind begins to wail
Folks around here don't talk much, just glance out toward the trees
Where something's watched for decades now, and never comes in peace
They call it just a shadow, or a trick of deer and fog
But the locals leave that stretch alone, and they don't walk their dogs
A hunter swears he saw it once-on two legs tall and wide
With yellow eyes that burned like fire, and teeth it didn't hide
There's eyes on Bray Road
That ain't from any beast we know
Not coyote, not no panther
Not the wolf that hunts alone
It walks like it's remembering
The man it might have been
And it don't care much for mercy
When the night comes rollin' in
A waitress driving home one night swerved to miss a shape
It stood up in her headlights like a man that death remade
With matted fur and snarling lips, it watched her hit the gas
And in her mirror, it didn't chase-just vanished in the grass
The sheriff wrote it off again, said stories love to grow
But his deputy don't take that road, and his dog refused to go
And somewhere near a fence line stands a figure dark and grim
It doesn't chase-it waits for you to wander close to him
There's eyes on Bray Road
And they shine when none should glow
Ain't no tale for campfire comfort
It's a truth some claim to know
They say you'll hear a breathing
When the wind is standing still
And you'll feel your blood go quiet
As it watches from the hill
So if you're ever drivin'
Where the night forgets its name
Keep your tires between the gravel
And don't slow down for pain
'Cause there's things that wear a shadow
Like a coat that's soaked in sin
And on Bray Road past the county line
The beast still lingers in
