They Ain't Right
I watched Berlin crumble, saw the East run to the West,
Ran like hell from communism, guess freedom passed the test.
Saw the shuttle torch the heavens, watched the whole world hold its breath,
Grew up when life was tougher
And you earned respect or death.
I lived through Desert Storm and planes that hit our sky like sin,
Watched the country pull together
Then tear itself apart again.
And I've stood through real storms, son, the kind that make men pray
But the loudest ones online?
Them They's would faint on my worst day.
The They's preach rebellion from a screen
Like they're forged in blood and steel,
But hand one a weed eater, son,
And you'll see the truth for real.
The They's wanna burn the whole world down,
But ain't built jack shit yet
You can't spark a revolution
If a pull cord makes you sweat.
'Cause the They's... ain't right,
All mouth, no muscle, no bite,
A generation yelling "justice!"
But afraid of working nights.
They call themselves the future,
But the future takes some grit
And them They's ain't lived a single day
That'd make a real man quit.
I watched the world go digital, truth got stripped for scraps,
Saw courage turn to hashtags
And grown men hide in apps.
The They's shake fists at tradition,
Claim they're warriors full of fire
But their biggest act of bravery
Is beard styling with a dryer.
I come from men who fix what's broke, not whine about the cost,
From weather that don't care
About the arguments you lost.
The They's think strength's a selfie,
Think courage is a post
But storms I've stood through, son,
Would drag their soul straight to the coast.
'Cause the They's... ain't right,
Raised on comfort, scared of night,
Talkin' big about "uprising"
But can't handle real-life fight.
They scream about rebellion
But their backbone's counterfeit
Hell,
The They's can't start a weed eater
A revolution?
They'd quit.
You ever notice, boy
The louder the They's get,
The fatter somebody's wallet gets?
Makes you wonder who the hell
The They's are workin' for.
