Started in Mitzrayim, chains on our hands,
Pharaoh on the throne, but he don't understand,
"Am Yisra'el multiplyin'," yeah he feel that fear,
So he pressin' down hard, bringin' pain every year,
Brick by brick, no straw, still build, still bleed,
Cried out to HaShem, "Please hear our need,"
Then a baby in the river, hidden from the blade,
Mosheh raised in the palace while the slaves still prayed,
Years go by, bush burnin' but it ain't consumed,
Voice of HaShem speakin', yeah it filled the room,
"Go tell Pharaoh, let My people all go free,"
Mosheh said, "Who am I?" He said, "I AM will be."
Blood on the doorposts, death pass by,
HaShem movin' heavy, yeah His hand stay high,
From the whip to the freedom, hear the people cry,
"Let my people go!" watch the empire die,
No leaven in the dough, gotta move, no delay,
From the dark into light, this the Pesach way,
Remember what He did, every night, every day,
HaShem redeemed us, ain't no other way.
First plague-Nile turn blood, fish float dead,
Egypt drinkin' judgment, terror spread,
Frogs in the beds, in the ovens, in the street,
Lice in the dust, crawl under your feet,
Swarms of flies, yeah the land get wrecked,
But Goshen untouched-divine select,
Livestock fall, disease in the field,
Boils on skin, make the proud ones kneel,
Hail from the sky, fire mixed in rain,
Locusts devour every ounce of grain,
Darkness thick, you can feel its weight,
But Yisra'el got light-yeah, separate state.
Final warning came, Mosheh spoke it clear,
"Midnight's comin', judgment drawin' near,"
Take a lamb, no blemish, put the blood on the frame,
Eat it with matzah, remember His Name,
Bitter herbs taste the pain we survived,
Staff in your hand, stay ready to ride,
Death moved through, every firstborn gone,
Cry in Egypt from dusk till dawn,
But passed over homes marked in faith,
HaShem made a difference-life or grave,
Pharaoh broke, said "Go, just leave!"
After all that pride, he finally believed.
Out of Mitzrayim, but Pharaoh changed mind,
Chariots behind, yeah they close in tight,
Sea in front, no place to hide,
But HaShem split waters-walked through dry,
Walls on the left, walls on the right,
Faith in their steps, no fear in sight,
Army came through, thought they could chase,
Waters crashed down-erased without trace,
Now we sing, "Mi chamocha?" none like You,
HaShem our כוח, forever true,
From slavery chains to a chosen nation,
Pesach story-eternal salvation.
Blood on the doorposts, we testify,
HaShem still movin', never askin' why,
From the dust to the promise, watch us rise,
Am Yisra'el High-forever alive,
No chametz in the soul, keep it pure, keep it straight,
Walkin' outta bondage into covenant gate,
Tell every generation, don't forget the day-
HaShem brought us out... that's the Pesach way
