Forgive me father I sing again

To whiskey smoke and all my sin

My hymn a blues in minor pain

Strings that bleed again and again

This is my midnight confession

Barroom gospel no redemption

Every chord a piece of truth

Every glass becomes my proof

Bartender nods he knows my tale

My faith is cracked my prayers pale

I preach in rust I pray in rain
