Things I'll Never Try (Commentary)

So at this point in the project

Um, we're at the fifth record, which is called "Things I'll Never Try"

And if you notice, I've, um, listed three issues that I've been dealin' with

Or have dealt with, and so on "Things I'll Never Try"

I'm basically talkin' about, um

Even though things get this bad, or you know, I get this close to the cliff

I'll never jump, you know?

There's certain things I'll never do

There's certain lines I'll never cross

And so, um

Primarily, I think the way I wrote it

It was like, drugs

And so it's almost like

I may do this, but I'll never do this

But I think the interesting thing about it is

A lot of-, a lot of people who are where they are, that's what they said

And so this is a very vulnerable song, um

It sounds bright when you listen to it

But if you really listen to what I'm sayin'

And, and think about it

Especially on the hook where I say, "If purple rain can hide this pain"

Uh, then, "I'm not hiding"

Then, you know, that's when it kinda opens up, I think, conceptually

So, yeah
